Can't get past win2000 login screen
Now, after a re-boot, I can not get past the user log on screen. I can choose either user or administrator icon and it will start to load my settings. Then about 4 seconds later, without changing screens, it will show me as logging off. Then I go back to the user icon screen and can choose again.

The only problem is that since my computer is 5-6 years old, it's unlikely that I can find my recovery disks. At least I can get my data while in Safe Mode. The third time I tried it, after I put in the password, it doesn't go past the login screen at all! I've only tried bootup 3 times.

I can not get the Log on to: (Domain) field and apparently have forgoten the local log on password. How can I rejoin the domain since I can't get past the Log On screen? From the server maybe? From the server I can search and see the computer, but can't access it. Thanks Bruce.

I can't get around the logon screen for w2k on a laptop I'm trying to get data off of. Something in the os must have gotten botched up. F8 when prompted on boot does not give me any option to get around this. I don't have a floppy drive for this unit at this point, and cd drive doesn't appear to be working right.

I can log in ok from the console, but if I try via XDMCP, I get the login screen, but I don't get logged into kde, I end up back at the login prompt. I can do this fine with other wm's.
